As many of you know, I’m partnering with Almond Breeze to spread the word about how this yummy almond beverage is actually a really versatile ingredient. I know lots of you use it in your coffee and smoothies, but I’m here to break you out of the box with some new recipes featuring Almond Breeze in ways you never even thought this one! Did you know that you can make almond-based dips that are vegan?



Today I developed this recipe that may actually replace hummus in your meal and snack rotation. Yes, I just did say that – a hummus replacement! Because I know you’re sort of getting sick of hummus, am I right? Even if you’re not, it’s so good to have options..especially healthy ones!




This recipe is vegan and made quickly in a high-speed blender, so it doesn’t make a mess in the kitchen with tons of pots and pans. Soaking the almonds is the step that takes the longest, but it’s totally necessary in order to get a smooth texture for this spread. The beets add an earthy sweet flavour and a vibrant colour – just try not to smile when you see this beautiful spread on your sandwich! Use it as a dip or a sandwich spread…delish.

Because this recipe is made primarily with almonds, it contains about 2 grams of protein per tablespoon, which is actually on par with hummus! Plus, it’s contains good fats and fiber. Love.

Vegan Dilled Beet Dip and Spread

This delicious almond-based recipe is bright and beautiful, as well as healthy and delicious!

Servings: 18 of one tablespoon
  • 1 cup blanched raw almonds
  • 1 cup Original Unsweetened Almond Breeze
  • 1/2 cup scant raw cubed peeled beets
  • 1 clove garlic peeled and roughly chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons heaping fresh dill
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  1. Soak the almonds in the Almond Breeze overnight.
  2. Place the almonds and the Almond Breeze they soaked in, into a high-speed blender. Blend until finely chopped.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and process until very smooth, scraping down the sides of the blender when required.
  4. Serve with vegetables, on sandwiches, and with crackers.
